Fake Plastic Trees and Eggnog

Wednesday, November 29th, 2006

So Christmas is coming around again and in a burst of excitement I obtained almost all of the gifts for the people dear to me. I’m having some trouble picking something for Brittnee and Ady, but besides that I think I have everyone covered. If you’d like to see what I got you you can follow that link. That spoils things though so I wouldn’t if I were you. I will probably get more things for people as the season progresses, but this is definitely a good start.

Again

Oh god how frustrating! I was just about done making a new post just now and it was getting pretty long when I accidently hit the back button on my phone’s browser.

I guess I’ll hit the main points that I wrote about earlier. First off it’s a paycheck day at the Ramada so it doesn’t feel like I’m just wasting my time here. Second, I’m super tired and thus I’ve been doing some super weird things that don’t make sense that I will most likely end up apologizing for later. Third if I don’t apologize it’s not because I don’t want to it’s because I’m retarded and don’t know how. Fourth, I miss video games. Fith I want a macbook pro and I just can’t have it even though I’m working two jobs and living at home (partly BECAUSE I am living at home).

Wish for Less

How cool is this, I was working my new layout (as promised) and I made fairly good progress B-U-T at some point IBroken Curves decided that it would be super cool if instead of actually saving my PSD document I would instead save the shell of it from when I cut the document (I cut manually). In case you’re wondering, what you see on the right is what’s left of it.

There’s more to add to that though. The whole past week has been a series of mistakes and calamities that can only be construed as bad luck. Monday I stayed home from work to finish my essay for financial aid at WSU and the following day I received a call telling me I would not be receiving financial aid so those plans are on hold … again. Tuesday I managed to have to do everything at least twice at Veritest, I even had a correction from the week before that I had to correct four times before completing. Wednesday I was so distraught about nothing that for the entire shift Audra pretty much had to tell me what to do. I actually have no complaints about Thursday (thank god). Friday I received a friendly note at the Ramada telling me I should find what I did wrong on my Night Shift Audit from last week, and on top of that I had a rather frightening drunk and high hooligan insist that I open the pool for him at four in the morning in the most threatening way possible, after telling my other clients that the hotel was over priced and shotty. Saturday I went into the Ramada again and I was asked to bring a camera to take pictures of what looked like a murder scene, which was not at all distracting from my fear of the boiler room that’s all too close to the front desk at the Ramada. At least today I’ll have the opportunity to play with Aaron’s Wii, though that’s only a small consolation to the fact that I won’t be able to touch my own Wii most likely until April despite the fact I’m working two jobs. I suppose I brought that upon myself however and I am thankful for the opportunity to rectify my past mistakes.

I’m going to bed now and praying that I don’t over sleep half as badly as I have been the last few weeks.

Oh My Cows!

Sunday, November 12th, 2006

A few nights earlier was an utter disaster. As sort of a goodbye shindig for Cody we decided Thursday night (Friday morning) that we should go to Kimsean’s place for a couple of drinks. I had .. more than a couple and a bit of Rum which never does me any good but at the time I didn’t really care. I got sick though, and I’m sure I made a huge mess but thankfully everyone took care of me. I should get Kimmy some kind of present. I woke up around eight I think and Kimsean drove me home.
Last night was supposed to be my first night on my own at the Ramada but luckily for me the person who’s shift I’m supposed to be taking over decided to come help me out for a couple of hours, and I’m very thankful he did so.

So I found out that using IE on my phone actually displays the wordpress back end better than opera mobile or Minimo which is very dissapointing since I try my hardest to avoid IE at all times but its the only browser I can post from while I’m on the go. I know I promised the new layout soon but I havn’t had any time to myself as of late and I don’t think that will change for quite sometime.

I ended up having Brenda pick up a copy of Harvest Moon DS for me and I’m having fun with it so far but I can’t figure out where to purchase more food.

The Ghost of Halloween Past

Wednesday, November 1st, 2006

Halloween is absolutely my favorite holiday of the year, and I’m very much a fan of holidays. The lights, the smiles, pretty much everything about them. So you could imagine how upset I was that I wasn’t allowed this year to partake in dressing up or handing out candy or anything that Halloween usually entails. I had originally blamed it all on a particular manager at my work but I knew that was entirely unreasonable and I eventually forgave his non-trespass. It helped that I was able to spend some time with my friends at Shari’s after work with them all in costume. Kari even offered up some treats to everyone!

I intend to celebrate the Day of the Dead this year as well, and if anyone would like to join me give me a call Thursday morning (perhaps Friday evening, although that’s a bit late). I intend to make sugar skulls and perhaps send off a butterfly or two at the river Thursday night if weather permits.
