A Vista of CS3

Wednesday, January 31st, 2007

I upgraded to Windows Vista yesterday and so far so good. I’ve yet to encounter any serious issues and all my drivers pretty much tooVista RC3k care of themselves. Once I was up and running again the very first thing I did was I went and got the beta of CS3, the new interface is absolutely stunning and far more intuitive than I could have hoped.

So now, I can start on a new design, and thanks to my new workplace I find myself coming up all sorts of good ideas that I can’t wait to put into affect. Aaron said he’d help me keep it more masculine than normally too, though no promises on that because I still really like feminine layouts.

Updates and Upgrade

Sunday, January 28th, 2007

I finaly updated to WordPress “Ella”. I’m kind of surprised that they would codename a build of wordpress after Ella Fitzgerald she really was an amazing artist and one of the few jazz artists that actually struck a corde with me. The new interface is absoutely amazing. It’s far simpler to work with and the new auto-save feature for drafts will be a huge life saver. I can’t recall how many times I’ve started a post and then halfway through lost it because I either left the page on accident or closed the browser without thinking.

I’m sure you’re all anxiously anticipating my next layout (right) and hate me for not having it out yet, but I really want to wait for CS3 and Vista so I can have a good feel for what it’s like to work in that environment.

On to more important subjects now, today is Kimsean’s birthday! He had a party of sorts last night and it was a good time, though I ended up feeling nauseated at some point and had to go home. You should all go take a look at his page and send him a comment or something. I’m not really a huge fan of myspace, but the boy deserves some attention and I’m not sure how else to direct it toward him.

Still Coming

Saturday, January 20th, 2007

I’m still waiting on the next version of Windows to be released before I begin my renewed passion for web development, courtesy of my current employer Dotster. I’m so happy that I found some place that seems as if it could be a worth while employer.

I’ve been looking into old vampire books and came across a really good novella entitled “Carmilla“. Apparently, Bram Stroker’s Dracula was based on this novel.

Give Creep

So I was just given a job offer at Dotster yesterday and of course I accepted it the second I was given the opportunity to. The job pays 3.10 more an hour than my previous job and gives me benefits. I am still having a hard time working out how I lucked out there. They are even giving me the opportunity to do some programming so I can gain experience with that while I’m there.

Recently I’ve been watching a good deal of an anime called “Welcome to the NHK!” and have found that the terms “Hikikomori” and “Freeter” sound all but too fitting for certain recent and not so recent stages in my life and I was honestly worried things here would never change, but I hit a great stroke of luck! So now the series seems sightlier funnier.

Freaky Outy!

Monday, January 15th, 2007

Last week sometime I had the opportunity to interview for a position at Dotster as a tier 1 tech support specialist and I was told I’d receive a call mid-week sometime for my second interview and that call came drastically earlier than I assumed it would, earlier meaning about half an hour ago. My interview starts at 2 and hopefully I can go have my hair cut before then because it has reached critical mass and I’m worried that the gravity from my hair my cause the building to collapse. Before I can do that though I have to wait for my laundry. I’ve absolutely no clothes not even ones that are haircut worthy.

HD FTW

Saturday, January 13th, 2007

So in the stance of HD-DVD versus Blu-Ray I’ve pretty much been on the HD-DVD side since the beginning, most likely because I am sick of Sony’s crap. Now it seems that the adult film industry may be on my side too. I would really love to believe that the porn industry alone could topple sales in favor of HD-DVD, but I know better than to raise my hopes especially considering the size of Sony’s wallet and influence.

Tacky Yet

Sunday, January 7th, 2007

I’m so sorry about the lack of a proper design for this place but I’ve been so busy with the holidays and still working two jobs that I havn’t had a chance. I’m going to be putting it off even longer too. the photoshop cs3 beta is out and has some vista optimizations, and since vista comes out the 30th and I intend to upgrade, I figured I’d hold out untill then.
