Love, Internet

Friday, January 23rd, 2009

I’m sure everyone in the world has read this already but I thought this article regarding men and the internet was fairly interesting. I don’t want to ruin the article for anyone who hasn’t read it, so go read it.

This week has left me feeling pretty drained, and there wasn’t a whole lot filling it either. It started with something that happened monday evening but I can’t remember what that was. Earlier that day though I had this feeling of “summer anxiety” that I tend to get (surprise) in warmer seasons when I’m indoor looking outside the window all day.

Maybe it’s just this weather driving me bonkers.

The Weather is Always Interesting

ani_owlI love reading new data supporting global warming all the time, because it shows that people are finally showing concern to this very real problem.

Another problem I’ve encountered recently is my animotronic usb-power owl has passed away (pictured here). He was a good owl and kept me company at work for at least a couple of months before he blinked his last.

I also recently acquired a new pair of shoes that broke yesterday because I was fidgeting and bent one of the metal pieces on the side of the shoe and broke it. I went our during lunch though and bought another pair, both pairs with Soho Labs but these are a little wider, nicer for walking, and don’t have anything I could break on them.

Google is Iconic

super_gGoogle recently changed their icon from a nice light blue one to the one shown here on the right.I found the icon to be remarkably similar to the icon that’s just a little further, which belonged to the Super Famicom (or Super Nintendo for you North-Americans). I thought it was a little funny considering the reason the icon was changed was apparently some complaint about garth brook’s cd being very similar

Gamers are Sensitive

Friday, January 2nd, 2009

Seriously this article on how gaming causes body issues explains quite a bit. So now instead of blaming my image issues on my deficiencies, I can start blaming it on video games. I know on some level that I’m not entirely unattractive but I’ve always felt like I could be a little better. I wonder if the fact that as a whole gamers tend to be either very thin or a little heavier than average was calculated into this survey, or if they picked out people close to “average” so that wouldn’t be a factor.
