Gaga for Lady.By Ramiro

lady-gaga-markus-indrani-hello-kittyLet’s not take this the wrong way. I love Lady Gaga. But I came across this chart about her and pretty much loved it. She really does have that performance related charisma that is hard to find in modern artist. Especially those in that particular genre. In other news. Tegan and Sara’s new album is amazing. I think “Red Belt” will be one of those songs that I keep singing to myself well into my late 50s when my kids are asking me what old crap it is that I’m singing under my breath. “On Directing” is pretty good too.

I’m nearly done with Batman: Arkum Asylum for the second time, this time i’m focusing on making sure I get every single riddler trophy / hint / etc. I’m a sucker for OCD game content, and achievements. I ordered the graphic novel of the same title and I’m pretty excited about reading it, as is my wife.

Speaking of which, I shared photos from the wedding with my parents tonight. It was a good time and they enjoyed themselves but they kept talking about how parts of the photos were out of focus, obviously unaware that the effect was actually desired in the photographers pieces.

Ratman pays a visit.By Ramiro

batboysLast night my old friend Oreo, my pet rat, passed away. The thought of going even one night with a silent cage seemed daunting, so I picked up a couple of boys to takes care of. Their names are Alfred Pennyworth and Bruce “Batman” Wayne, who we are calling Pennyworth and Bats respectively.

Work has been interesting recently. It seems either a plague has hit or people are taking their illness more seriously than they have in the past since they are not coming to work.

I’m moving all of my website over to MediaTemple, they have a superb control panel and , it seems, a good deal of power to back up websites even on their shared hosting. So far my experience has been great. I feel like pricing could be a little more competitive. But it’s worth it.

Boogie Wave BoardingBy Ramiro

hate_ieSo, first and foremost. Let me tell you guys, I hate IE6. To the point where it stresses me out sitting here incapable of combating against it. Even back when it was first created, it wasn’t the friendliest browser, or the greatest at playing with others, but it had some neat features, so it had its place. Now, it is an eight, nearly nine, year old peice of sh*t software and the only reason people still use it at all is because they are either afraid to advance, or are too lazy to. IE8 is a step up at least, or if you want something great you could try chrome, safari, or firefox. The comic I slightly modified here was originally from Penny-Arcade, if you guys are wondering.

In other news: I actually have access to the sandbox developer preview in wave now. It’s pretty interesting. I’ll dabble a little more in it when I have the chance, but for the time being my evenings are pretty tied up.

Can't Catch a Wave.By Ramiro

no_waveI’ve been dying to get on Google Wave ever since I heard of its inception. By now most of you fanatics are probably aware of the ever familiar page reminding you of your lack of privileges, I’ve depicted my own version here. I still hope I get in sooner than later.

Other pretty big news: I’m married now. Wedding occurred in the evening of September 19th, I had lots of good friends, good drinks, good fun. The after party was fairly outrageous too. The event was the success I thought it would be, and I’m pretty happy to be attached now.

The honey moon was pretty fun too. Horse back riding, good food, kayaking, in a small tropical boutique hotel a few hours south of Puerto Valletta called El Careyes.

We don’t have pictures of the main even yet, once I do i’ll put together new content for the wedding site with pictures.

Curry and CocoBy Ramiro

Coconut JuiceI went out for Curry yesterday with the very-soon-to-be Mrs, over on the opposite end Vancouver at a place called the “Thai Lotus”, it really is the best Thai place in this city. We left with enough yellow and massaman to give some hefty samples to my mom.

When I got home I saw a tweet somewhere or another about Baseline, and I’m pretty excited about trying it myself at some point. I’m hoping they’ll let me import the styles at work for some of our sites, maybe that way we can finally keep good typography straight.

Four more days untill the wedding. Eek.

Yeah Yeah, Wow.By Ramiro

3382731282_0589d54fae_bThe new yeah yeah yeah’s album “It’s blitz” has been on repeat for the last three days on my iphone and I’m still not tired of it. This morning my friend Corey discovered a Placebo cover for “Where is my Mind” (the pixies) and so I wiki’d the song and found out there is also a Yeah yeah yeah’s cover of the song, and I absolutely must hear it. If anyone has any leads on where or how I could acquire the song or at least listen to it, please let me know.

Wedding is coming up quickly, only fifteen days left, 4 of those I will be spending at work and the remaining time will be spent either at the wedding, or preparing for it. Bachelor party is next Saturday, and I’m pretty excited about that. Really, any excuse for a night of debauchery is a good one, but I think this might be my favorite.

Save the Cows!By Ramiro

There’s been a proposal to establish a group in order to preserve the “Vaquita“. A very small porpoise (about half the length of a human) that lives in the northern part of the inside of Baja California. A cute, small, porpoise who’s going extinct. The poor thing is down to below a hundred total. And there are even fewer in captivity as attempts to keep them have failed.

On the upside, I have a UBI for my business. I’ll reveal more details later.

Make me Want to.By Ramiro

sfo_mallYou can’t be serious, another Scream movie? Like We didn’t already beat this horse to death, then stab it, and then find out the horse was actually one of the protagonists before stabbing it again? I’m going to watch it anyways, of course. But I still feel like these actors could have done something better. I guess at the very least it’ll be a great excuse to be close to the fiance for an evening.

The picture to the left is actually of the inside of the mall in San Francisco. We really only stopped there once for breakfast, and then at the end of the day to relax since we were spending too much money outside the mall (hah!) and it is actually connected to the BART, which has to be the most amazing transportation system I’ve ever used.

Excellent WorkBy Ramiro

Squirell_SummerI had a very productive Monday, filled with bug fixes and new pages and forms. I discovered only today that Subway sells Pizza. 4$ for a personal pizza isn’t terrible either, not as good of a deal as a 5$ medium at Little Caesars, but still not bad. In the picture here on the right you’ll see a tiny squirrel, I was far closer than it looks like but the picture was of course taken from my phone so I couldn’t zoom or anything.

I’ve still got more work to do tonight, but if I accomplish my goals for the evening I intend to reward myself with some more Curse of Monkey Island.

Stadium sans ArcadiumBy Ramiro

delicia_flowersThis week Happy Birthday’s go to Aaron and Delicia, congratulations on surviving another year, also a Happy Belated birthday to Brittnee. I actually got Delicia some flowers for her birthday, but she had scheduled PTO for today so they were instead delivered to an empty desk. I’ll have to deliver them to her manually now.

Not much else going on, weather is warmer, things are going pretty easy. Brenda and my wedding rings came in, I was pretty excited about that. On a partially related note, where would you guys put this song on your top metric songs, if at all, please vote!
